Music icons from across the globe have come together to design the ultimate collectable wristbands for one aim. To raise a minimum of $3 million for worthwhile causes and support fair, sustainable employment in developing countries.

Rock royalty and leading music icons including: Ozzy Osbourne, Nicko McBrain, Slash, Joss Stone, Scissor Sisters and Franz Ferdinand have designed the fashion accessory of the year. The wristbands contain a message and symbol of hope for the future and 100% of net profits of sales will be donated to a chosen cause or charity, important to each celebrity.

21st Century Leaders is the unique organisation that has gathered original artwork from over 200 celebrities in all fields: film, music, sport, literature, royalty and Nobel peace laureates. Each leader has donated a self-portrait, in addition to the message and symbol of hope. The artwork will be used to create ‘merchandise with a meaning’ under fair working conditions. Music wristbands are the first products launched in the U.K. and U.S. T-shirts, rock trainers and contemporary collectable porcelain plates and mugs will also be available soon.

The inspirational leaders include an array of celebrities including: HM King of Spain, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, David Bowie, Coldplay, Samuel L. Jackson, Giorgio Armani, Donna Karen, Claudia Schiffer, Heidi Klum, Laurence Fishburn, Sir Michael Caine and Lady Shakira Caine.

The woman behind the unique pioneering charity is Charlotte di Vita MBE. A Nelson Mandela Children’s Goodwill Ambassador, “Woman of the Year” in 2003 for outstanding contribution to trade charity work and an inspiration to a generation of music fans everywhere.

“The heart of 21st Century Leaders is to raise money for communities in developing countries, to help starving children in Africa, to raise awareness of child abuse and to protect the environment for tomorrow’s future. We have been overwhelmed with support from icons across the world. Leaders from three continents have shown their support and passion with a simple statement of hope for the future over the last two years. Music is a language understood by everyone around the world. Through this medium, we want to launch 21st Century Leaders and through art, we want to send their message of hope.”

The first limited edition music wristbands will be sold at £2.99. on www.whateverittakes.org from 10 June and 130 Virgin Megastores across the country from 17 June.
