Johnny B - Stockholm

The day started well as I logged onto the internet to upload another diary, photos and video clips. The bleariness from the night before's late night drinkfest hung over me like the proverbial cloud of doom. It was either upload or eat breakfast. I am running tight to the wind already so ..... breakfast had to go .... MISTAKE ONE. I then get a call from Defeated Wacky races team captain Steve 'Okay so West ham WERE great' Cox. His Apple laptop is not happy and is throwing a tantrum. Who ya...

Johnny B - Stockholm

How sweet a victory is ours. Let's deal with the superb West Ham march into Europe. Both Steve Cox and the record company spent the afternoon phoning around trying to find a pub or club inn Stockholm that was showing the West Ham match... but to no avail. After a few frantic calls to the UK we found out that it was being shown live on a new digital channel called 'Sky Sports news' or some such malarkey. Why do these buggers have to muck about with the channels. Don't they know 'Arry and I...

Nicko - Helsinki

Well hello Boys and Girls At the moment of writing it's about 12.40 pm and we're sitting on the tarmac at Helsinki airport. We've got a race going between ourselves and the other guys. On the Bruce Goose we've got Steve, Rod, John, Jim, Bruce and myself. On the scheduled flight is Davey, H, Jan, Wally and Steve Cox. We've just departed at 1pm so l'm doing this on the plane. I think we got the drop on the rest of the guys thus far. We're heading for the land of Volvo and Blonde babes, in case...

Johnny B - Helsinki

The Helsinki gig was cooking. The crowd were brilliant, stuffed to the roof and lapping up every minute of the spectacular show. They loved Run To The Hills and Bruce had the crowd in the palm of his hand during 'Fear Of The Dark'. I won¹t dwell on the gig as Nicko is doing a report and I am sure you would rather read what he has to say about it. Today we awake for the 'Maiden Wacky Races'. I'm with the Dick Dastardly team, in other words Bruce Airways. The idea is simple. There has...

Johnny B - St John

Hiya Ironheads ........ I'm Johnny B and I have been travelling with the band since Paris to provide all you webheads with footage from the gigs and the bands antics on days off. Firstly, thanks to all the BB 'irregulars'; the band and Rod noted all your comments and certain criticisms in early August and acted upon them. Which is why the band hired me to work exclusively on www.ironmaiden.com. What a lot of the fans don't realise is that Maiden and Rod oversee EVERYTHING that goes on on the...

Steve - St John

Pre-Production in St John, Canada After finishing rehearsals in Lille, France, I flew to St John Canada (with a stop over for a couple of days business in New York on the way). St John is a beautiful part of the world, and the people are very friendly, so it made a great place to do pre-production rehearsals, as they have a perfect venue for this kind of thing and we were able to do a warm up gig in the same place. Pre-production is definitely needed with a brand new big show production like...

Steve - Luxembourg

So .............. The next leg of the 'Ed Hunter tour, the European section and it starts for me by flying on a Monday night to Luxembourg to be met by our new tour manager Steve Cox. We were driven about an hour to Nancy where the next day will be production rehearsals and a 'get the rust out' run through of the set for us. I arrive in Luxembourg with a good song idea going through my head, mustn't forget it ........ keep repeating it ...... 'til I got it on tape. I must get the cassette...

Bruce - Cleveland

Here we are again folks. Last time I wrote we were shivering and shaking in Portugal [but that got hotter trust me!]. Right now I'm sitting in a hotel room in Cleveland hammering away at a laptop and we are 2 weeks into the tour and its sounding pretty exciting. Everyone will be sending in reviews so I don't need to tell you about that kind of stuff, but lots of people are curious about the pictures of the Plane that rod put out, so I thought I'd tell you a little bit about the 'Aces High...

Nicko - New York

Hi Boys & Girls, Well it's Friday and I'm sitting in me hotel in New York. It was a day off yesterday and my wife came up to meet me so I didn't have a chance to write to you all, so here goes. Oh yeah, we went to see 'Blue Man Group' (Tubes) last night, an off Broadway Show. It was absolutely brilliant and thoroughly recommend everyone to see it. Anyway, back to our journey from Montreal to Quebec on Wednesday. We left the hotel in Montreal at 2.30 pm and made our way to Dorval...

Rod - Quebec

Yesterday we set off from the hotel to fly to Quebec at around 2pm. Bruce was to fly with Steve, Nicko, co-pilot Joe, tour photographer Demi Safari, tour manager Alan and myself. At the airport Bruce carried out the pre flight tests which takes about 20min and then Bruce and Steve loaded the luggage on to Bruce's Cessna 421 (see pics). l must say l did enjoy watching the band do all the work for the change. Alan and Joe were in the terminal making travel arrangements whilst Nicko kept out of...
